Educational Programs

Sunday Sessions: Plymouth's Christian education program for children, under the direction of Sheree Alexander

is a worship-centered approach for children ages 3 through sixth grade and is conducted from 10:15 a.m. to

11:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

The movement of Sunday Sessions mirrors that of a worship service. Children are led to respect sacred time and space, and encouraged to wonder about God and explore the sacred stories.

One Room Schoolhouse: Our “bring a buddy, be a buddy” program runs during the Summer. We invite children ages five – fourth grade to bring a friend and two adults (or an adult and teen) to plan a lesson/activity and bring a snack. The relaxed format allows for lots of creativity.

Confirmation program: Conducted for Junior High School aged children, this program, under the direction of the Reverend Van Doren, uses adult mentors from the congregation to help and guide the confirmands. Worship attendance and sermon discussions are part of the confirmation program.

Adult education and growth programs: Conducted throughout the year, these include topical series and a Lenten Bible Study. An annual fellowship and growth retreat is offered as well as other one-time and short-term studies.

Inquirer's classes: If you are new to Plymouth, are considering membership, or simply would like to know more about Plymouth, the denomination and faith perspectives, Plymouth offers periodic "inquirer's" classes. The next class will be held on Tuesday, June 24 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. at the church. Attending the class does not obligate one to join the church. Those who do wish to become members will be received on Sunday, June 29, 2008.If you would like to sign up for this class, please contact Reverend Van Doren at 455-4260 or e-mail plymouth@wmis.net.
