Christian Education Director

Sheree Alexander

Christian Education Director, Sheree Alexander has attended Plymouth Church with her family since 2003. Before becoming Education Director she was involved in the nursery and as a volunteer with the Sunday Sessions program.  She, her husband Marty, and daughter Sophie live in Grand Rapids.

“I believe a role of the church and, more specifically, the role of Sunday Sessions, is to assist families in raising compassionate children.  At Plymouth, we follow Christ with an emphasis of serving those in need.  The need may be spiritual or emotional, but more often than not it is food, clothing, shelter, water, etc. both in our own community and elsewhere.  We have designed a Sunday Sessions program to teach children about the Bible, about the practice of Christianity, and the proclamation of the faith through self-reflection, commitment, and service.  And, we have a lot of fun along the way.

This year, several of Plymouth's boards and affiliates are sponsoring one of our four age groups. While they will assist in introducing their own “faith-walk” and how they help within the church, the children will also help and pray for them each week.  I know we will bless each other as we take this journey together!" - Sheree Alexander
